Japan’s Integrated Resorts passed into law

The Japan’s Integrated ResortsIRImplementation Bill marked a victory for the

government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as the Bill passed into the law on the 20th July.

Regarding the set up of the resorts such as the casinos, the Implementation Bill

suggested up to three integrated resorts in Japan and the casinos will open as soon as

the year 2020. At the same time, the casino operator must surrender 30% of the casino

revenue to the country.

The Bill stipulates that the admission of local Japanese nationals is subject to an entrance

fee of 6,000 yen (about USD54), and not exceeding three times a week and no more than

10 times a month. Free entry for all non local residents.

The Japanese government hopes to set up a casino with large-scale international

conferences and convention operations and at the same time hope that the “Integrated

Resorts Implementation Bill” will revitalize the Japanese economy and attract more

tourists after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
